Schuco thresholds

Schuco thresholds are available with two different options but the choice does not stop there, inward or outward opening, with or without a cill all of these options can change how the threshold for your door interacts with your floor level and ultimately how you interact with your door. Below are a selection of drawings that can help you make a better informed decision showing different combinations of doors and the different floor levels that can be achieved with a little planning and forethought.

Schuco weather rated threshold The standard threshold for Schuco bifolding doors has an up-stand on one side of 60 mm this when combined with a cill at 25 mm can be installed to give very little for you to step over while retaining maximum protection for your property. The up-stand acts as a full weather break stopping any wind or rain in its tracks and guaranteeing that your home remains in top condition regardless of the weather outside while a 150 mm cill protects the brickwork underneath your door from unnecessary water damage. we recommend this set up of threshold and cill to most of our customers as it offers the best protection for open areas that are exposed to the elements.

Schuco flush threshold The low level flush Schuco thresholds are ideally suited to internal or sheltered locations and unlike many other doors on the market the bulk of this threshold is designed specifically to sit below your finished floor level with only a 3.5 mm rise above the floor. This makes it ideal for those people wanting to create a seamless transition between rooms or for those wanting to blur the lines between their home and garden. When combined with a trench or French drain system the flush threshold can be a very effective system for keeping the weather out from your property however there is no guarantee when compared with the standard threshold.
