We can’t believe that after all the trials and tribulations we’ve been through in the last 18 months, we are now facing delivery problems, not because there is a fuel shortage, but because the media has hyped up a very small blip in the supply chain and sparked massive panic buying.
The photos of queues of cars with their boots full of Gerry cans, or worse, water bottles, just carries the panic on and makes the snowball of panic get bigger and bigger.
In the mean time this becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. If some people think there is going to be a fuel shortage and go out to squeeze an extra £30 worth into their tank, it doesn’t take all that many extra ‘full to the top’ tanks to make that come true.
Once again we are doing our utmost to keep our trucks and staff on the road in the face of increasing difficulty. We will do our best to get what we need to us, and then to you, on time.
